Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Prepare returns primarily for partnerships, S-corps, and individuals
- Individual returns
- Understand tax documents to input into returns such as W-2, 1099, 1099-R 1098, etc.
- Comfortable preparing Schedule C and Schedule E
- Individual returns
- Business returns:
- Comfortable with input
- Work towards reconciliation of Schedule M-1 and Balance Sheet
- Prepare adjusting journal entries in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online to close monthly, quarterly, and year-end
- Oversee accounting to tax preparation process from A to Z
- Take client QB file, propose, adjustments, prepare return, communicate results to client, and have return filed
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and tax research such as creating a new entity, registration in state, etc.
- Respond to tax notices from IRS and other jurisdictions
Preferred Qualifications / Requirements:
- Accounting degree
- MBA/Masters in Tax/Accounting a plus
- Previous CPA firm experience a plus
- CPA License (or pursuing)
- Proficient in Lacerte, Quickbooks, and MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
