Linda Buckwalter, an Associate of Traphagen CPAs & Wealth Advisors and the Treasurer of The Christopher Barron Live Life Foundation, recently participated in the Foundation’s virtual run/walk to benefit children fighting cancer and other blood disorders. The Foundation was started in 2009 and this year’s virtual event was held in Christopher's memory to celebrate his 23rd birthday.
As background, when Christopher Barron was undergoing treatment at 8 years old, he found comics fun and helpful in building self-esteem. Chris felt that comics reminded kids of the power of their imaginations and therefore, he started his own comic series to help others. Children who participate in Christopher's Comic Book Inspirations learn how to create comics from professionals. Over the past decade, 800 children have participated in these workshops. As part of the virtual foundation run/walk event, Christopher's Comic Book Inspirations and comic creations workshops were offered to underserved children in Paterson, New Jersey.
